Completed while on exchange at the Universidad de Chile, this adaptive reuse project explored the symbolic and pragmatic role of a political leader.
The project sought to mediate the public and private aspect of the ‘presidential’ identity through generating a dynamic structure that could transform depending on user needs. The design included a facade of metal fabric that could be opened and closed depending on the level of privacy desired. In this project, I prepared working drawings and detailed environmental control systems, including heat recovery ventilation and passive solar heating.
